Online Driver Training: Courses

Pro-DEFENSE Curriculum: New Languages & Regional Versions
French Canadian Pro-DEFENSE Catalog (for all vehicle types): Our best-in-class defensive driving training courses are now available for French Canadian-speaking drivers. The entire Pro-DEFENSE catalog has been fully translated, featuring French Canadian narrations and on-screen text for all vehicle categories.
Spanish Pro-DEFENSE Catalog (for all vehicle types): Our defensive driving courses are also available for Spanish-speaking drivers, with complete Spanish narrations and on-screen text.
UK Pro-DEFENSE Catalog (for all vehicle types): Courses include UK-specific narration, visuals (vehicles, scenery, road signs, etc.), on-screen text and considerations for localized government regulations.
Note: We also offer a catalog of targeted micro-learning modules for UK drivers, offering quick refreshers on topics such as mobile phone use, space management and distractions.
*Customers with existing access to the Pro-DEFENSE catalog will automatically have access to these new versions. Reach out to your account manager or success@sambasafety.com to upgrade your training package.
Additional Course Updates
Driver Qualification Files: Effective June 23rd, 2025, the Department of Transportation eliminated the use of physical medical certification cards. Medical examiners now provide electronic verification directly to states. SambaSafety’s courses on Driver Qualification Files have been updated to reflect this FMCSA change.

Online Driver Training: Workflow Enhancements

Our driver training mobile app (formerly Sentix) is getting an exciting update on Android and iOS. The refreshed app will feature a modern interface, SambaSafety branding and the following new features:
- Push Notifications: Opt into alerts for new lesson assignments and due date reminders, without needing an email address.
- Auto Logout: Ensure shared device security with automatic logout after one hour of inactivity.
ELDT Class B Certificate
The Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) Class B certificate is now available to view and print for compliance purposes within the SambaSafety platform. When a user completes all courses in the ELDT Class B content category, they will now receive a Learning Path certificate, similar to the certificate provided for ELDT Class A.

By instantly matching each alert to the most effective and relevant course, drivers receive targeted intervention at the right time to prevent future incidents.
High-Risk Trip Alert Details
High-risk trip alerts now show exactly which risky activities occurred, including event types, frequency and total mileage. This additional context helps you take more targeted action to address dangerous behaviors.
TSP Integration Enhancements
New TSP Integrations: SambaSafety is now integrated with over 100 Telematics Service Providers (TSPs) and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), making it easier to connect your existing telematics data into the SambaSafety platform for a unified view of risk. Contact your SambaSafety Account Manager or success@sambasafety.com for more information.
Enhanced TSP Integrations: We’ve made several enhancements to our existing TSP integrations to improve the experience, including:
- Ensuring consistency between risk activities displayed in SambaSafety and your TSP.
- Ingesting additional data points such as Hours of Service (HOS) and GPS data, for a more holistic view of risk.
- Automatically updating data in SambaSafety when an activity is dismissed or invalidated by the TSP.
License Monitoring and MVRs
MVR Lookback Expansion
Florida Weekly License Status Monitoring
MVR Lookback now automatically reviews 12 months of prior driving activity without requiring a pre-hire or Smart Sync MVR. This helps you assess driver risk and determine if a full MVR is needed.
MVR Lookback is also now available in 36 US states, giving you greater visibility while reducing costs.
eUpgrade your Florida License Status Monitoring service to benefit from the following enhancements:
- Weekly checks for license status changes (instead of monthy)
- Alerts for administrative status changes like suspensions, revocations and reinstatements
New Hampshire License Monitoring
You can now monitor license status and violations for New Hampshire drivers. Toggle on License Monitoring via the Person Profile or bulk enroll a group of NH licenses to begin receiving activity alerts for new convictions, suspensions and more. API users can use their existing “Licenses and Enrollments” SambaSafety API integrations to manage and enroll NH licenses.

Notable State MVR Updates
Arizona MVRs for commercial drivers will include CDL medical certificate data, including certificate type, issue/expiration dates and examiner information (coming soon).
Washington, D.C. MVRs now include license restrictions designated with two-character codes on D.C. licenses when provided by the district. (Previously, only one-character restriction codes were reported.)
West Virginia MVRs now include license restrictions and ELDT information when provided by the state.
Florida MVRs now include medical certificate restrictions when provided by the state.
Person Profile and Risk Index
Trip Mileage Added to Risk Index
The Risk Index now shows each person's weekly mileage for greater transparency into score calculations. With visibility into driving behaviors, distance traveled and week-over-week mileage changes, you gain a complete view of the risk assessment for more confident decisions.

Improved Risk Index Categories
The Risk Index has also been enhanced to better reflect safe driving behavior. Drivers who travel more than 10 miles without risky behaviors now show as 'green' (safe driving) instead of 'gray' (no data). This clarifies who's actively driving safely versus who has no driving data.

Import Multiple People and Licenses - Workflow Improvements
Import Without a Template: Import people and licenses without using an excel template.
Streamlined Error Handling: If you don't want fix invalid entries during roster import, you can now download the error list and resolve them later (just remember to delete invalid entries before re-uploading the file).

Activity Indicator analyzes SambaSafety’s court and public-record data tied to a driver to verify if previous violation activity exists. This service returns a yes/no response and identifies drivers who require more careful attention, saving on MVR orders for clean drivers.
This capability now features 50-state coverage and five years of driver history (previously three).
Activity History provides instant visibility into risky driver behavior and additional insights into what violations are on a driver’s record. This allows you to instantly flag undisclosed suspensions, DUIs, speeding tickets and other violations at any point in the policyholder’s lifecycle.

Data Solutions now offers the ability to order MVRs on drivers requiring additional review. This is best used in conjunction with Activity Indicator and/or Activity History for an end-to-end workflow.
We recently added the ability to order overnight records in California and Missouri, enabling customers to:
- Obtain the hazmat expiration date in California
- Access a more affordable record option in Missouri
