What's New at SambaSafety: 2024 Recap
This past year, SambaSafety focused on elevating the capabilities of our Risk Cloud. Explore how our latest advancements empower businesses to act faster on driver risk and improve safety.
The Risk Index
The Risk Index unifies all sources of driver data in a single, holistic risk score. By factoring in MVR, CSA, telematics and other data sources, it offers a complete picture of risk for each driver and allows for simplified benchmarking across your business.
Risk Index Trend Chart and Activities Table
Visualize a driver’s risk trend over time and identify patterns in behavior week over week. Gain full transparency into which activities contributed to the score each week.

Risk Index Report
Quickly compare risk across your business and identify the riskiest drivers for intervention based on their risk score.
Risk Index Enhancements
Add Coaching Activities: Record coaching conversations and interactions as activities that contribute to the Risk Index, helping you better monitor progress and improvement.

Coaching/Training Filter on the Risk Index Report: Identify drivers who have or have not received coaching or training in a specific timeframe to pinpoint those in need of attention and evaluate improvements based on your coaching strategy. (Note: This filter is based on coaching/training activities added to an individual's Risk Index. It does not automatically include SambaSafety University-assigned courses at this time.)
License Management
View and Manage Current and Historical Licenses
Gain visibility and clarity into a person’s complete license history with the ability to label and manage current and historical licenses. This update is designed to help you maintain the license history when a driver moves from state to state.
On the Person Profile
Assign a License Category: When adding a license, users can now specify if it is current or historical, aiding in the management of multiple licenses for a single person.

View and Edit License Details: Use the License Summary section of the Person Profile to see and manage all current and historical licenses for that person. Easily change the license category using the edit pencil or view saved license information (such as type, ZIP code or gender) for licenses enrolled in monitoring.
View License Category in License Monitoring Module: See which licenses can be monitored next to the License Monitoring toggle on a person's profile. Toggle on monitoring for the most recently added license or set any license as current to allow for monitoring.
Purchase an MVR for Any License: Purchase an MVR for any license affiliated with a Person’s Profile, current or historical. (Note: MVR purchasing in the platform is only available for licenses issued by a US State. Non-US licenses will not appear in the “Purchase MVR” module.)

On the My People Page
View License Category: Users can now see the assigned category (current or historical) for each license directly on the My People page, eliminating the need to navigate to individual profiles for this information. Hover over the license category indicator next to the license number to see if a license is current ("C") or historical ("H").
Accurate Roster Headcount: View all licenses for a person under a single record on My People and get an accurate count of your full driver roster.

Monitoring and MVRs
CSA Crash Context in Activity History
When a crash occurs, CSA Monitoring now surfaces additional details in the Activity History, including fatalities, injuries, tow-away or HazMat releases.
Configurable MVR Scoring
Notable State Updates
Oklahoma License Monitoring: In addition to violation monitoring, we now offer license status monitoring for Oklahoma licenses. Monitoring can be triggered by changes in license status, medical certification, license class, restrictions and endorsements.
Opt out of Michigan Enrollment MVRS: Customers can now request to disable Michigan enrollment MVRs through SambaSafety’s Technical Customer Support team.
Utah MVRs: Now include license restrictions.
Kansas MVRs: Now include permit information.

Online Driver Training: Workflow Enhancements
Assign Multiple Courses at a Time
When creating an assignment, there is now a new course selection modal that can be used to select and assign one or multiple courses at a time. This removes the friction of having to create multiple individual assignments when providing more than one course to a driver.

Edit Training Due Dates
Conveniently adjust due dates for incomplete training assignments without having to unassign the course. Use the Edit Due Date feature from the Training Details module via the Training Dashboard or under the Activity History and Training tabs on the Person Profile.
Take Action from the Training Dashboard

User Management
Allow Restricted Users to View MVR Alerts and Assign Training
Admins, Association Admins and Association Managers now have the option to grant Restricted Users permission to review MVR Alerts or Assign Training Courses. This update gives more flexibility for restricted users to manage key workflows, without compromising the integrity of their existing restricted permissions.
