Telematics Monitoring

*Available with the Telematics package

Telematics Alert Volume Reduction

Enhanced Telematics Trip Logic

To ensure telematics alerts remain manageable and actionable, we significantly reduced the volume of incoming alerts by focusing on just three critical telematics activities: Speeding >20 mph, High-Risk Trip, and Crash.

Trip data from your TSP can now be more precisely interpreted and assigned to the appropriate driver during each trip. This enhancement enables more accurate risk scoring and improved data consistency between SambaSafety and your TSP.

New TSP Integrations

SambaSafety is now integrated with over 100 Telematics Service Providers (TSPs) and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), making it easier to connect your existing telematics data into the SambaSafety platform for a unified view of risk. Contact your SambaSafety Account Manager or success@sambasafety.com for more information about our TSP integrations.

License Monitoring and MVRs

MVR Updates

License Monitoring Updates

Arizona MVRs: SambaSafety now offers Arizona employment MVRs. These MVRs include all the medical certification information presented on a paper card, including self-certification type, issue and expiration date, and medical examiner information. Note: All Arizona license monitoring MVRs are now employment MVRs.

Wyoming MVRs now include commercial permit eligibility, out-of-state activity information, eye color, and hair color for additional verification for confidence.

Vermont MVRs now include violation posted dates and additional speeding details.

Illinois MVRs now include additional details when the FMCSA invalidates medical certifications through voiding, disqualifying, or rescinding waivers, exemptions, or skills performance evaluations.

Personal license status is now clearer for individuals with invalid CDLs who retain valid driving privileges for noncommercial use. The following states now offer this clarification, with more to come: Alaska, Florida, Illinois, North Carolina, and South Carolina.

Maryland license monitoring now delivers a single enrollment MVR with medical certification information included, instead of receiving separate enrollment and composite (or annual) MVRs.

North Carolina license monitoring now detects positive license status changes and restriction changes automatically.

Connecticut license monitoring now detects medical certificate and endorsement changes automatically.

Authorization for Enrollment Enhancement

The Authorization for Enrollment form has been updated to remove outdated references to consumer reports, criminal history, and credit score reports, improving clarity around the type of data SambaSafety provides and aligning with Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) best practices.

MVRs

Insurers can now order single or bulk MVRs through the SambaSafety platform, in addition to the APIs available under our Data Solutions. This enables quicker access to MVR ordering for quote or renewal purposes without the need for a technical API integration.

Activity History

Insurers can access driving history reports on an individual through the SambaSafety platform or API. Reports provide up to five years of driving history available through court and public record data, including accidents, driver license status, CDLs, medical certifications, and endorsements (if available).

Platform Workflow Enhancements

  • Flexible Download Options: Download Activity History reports directly from multiple locations for easier access and sharing. Look for the download button on the Order Details table or on the side panel of the report itself.
  • Improved Data Validation & Alerts: Validation errors are now easier to catch before placing an order. A warning badge appears next to "People with Errors" when data needs attention, allowing you to resolve the issues prior to ordering.
  • Dashboard Snapshot & FilteringQuickly identify risk within a group of drivers using the new Activity History snapshot chart, showing the percentage of drivers with activity versus those without. Filter your view by clicking directly on the chart or using the Activity Status column header.

Activity History Report
  • Enhanced Report Format & Navigation: We've redesigned our Activity History reports to make reviewing driver risk assessments faster and more intuitive:
    • The new card-style report layout makes it easier to find the most important information, with clearer descriptions, dates, and statuses.
    • Summary tiles at the top display a count of all events in each section (violations, licenses, accidents, or other key metrics), and alert badges indicate to users that there is activity requiring attention.
    • Collapsible sections let you quickly expand relevant details as needed, with clickable navigation that takes you directly to specific report sections.

Expanded Footprint & Data Access

  • Arkansas court records are now available for Activity Indicator and Activity History orders, providing a more comprehensive view of risk for drivers operating in or out of this state.
  • Activity History reports now include medical information from public record MVRs. This can be found at the bottom of the report and the date displayed reflects the date the public record MVR was ordered.
  • The Activity History Dashboard now shows activity status (activity, no activity, and unknown) to help you quickly identify which people need review.
